What is counselling?

Counselling is a process that focuses on enhancing the psychological well-being of an individual. Coming for counselling allows an individual to reach his full potential and live an enriching life.

During counselling, client’s personal growth, development and self-understanding is facilitated by a counsellor. This in turn empowers the individual to adopt more constructive life practices.

Who is counselling for? 

A common misconception about counselling is that only people with severe mental health issues come for counselling. In reality, many people who attend counselling are bright and stable individuals who are looking for solutions to everyday issues like stress and relationship problems.

When to seek counselling? 

Counselling is about strengthening oneself and seeking personal growth and development. It is extremely important to take the crucial step forward and seek professional help if anyone find themselves experiencing troubling thoughts and emotions.

Counsellor is 

  • A Supporter
    • Counsellor will try to understand, accept and support client’s feeling without judging.
  • A Consultant
    • Counsellor knows his/her limitation. A counsellor will not speak or act beyond his/her capacity.
  • An Observer
    • In order to understand and help effectively, a counsellor will observe the client intensely to determine his/her physical, emotional and mental state.
