Feelings of being depressed is an experience in dealing with disappointments, defeats and discouragement in our lives. Most of the time, these feelings will usually last a few days or 1 or 2 weeks.

However, if these feelings persist in many weeks or months, they can result in  disruption to daily work life, studies, or relationships within the family and friends.

Feelings of depression can make life extremely hard to handle at times. This is a big strain on the person affected by depression. Depression can also place his or her loved ones in a situation that requires a lot of patience and sensitivity.

Some possible symptoms of depression includes, but not limited to the following:


  Depressed feelings of mood or sadness most of the time


  Inability to enjoy things/moments which used to bring some sense of pleasure

  Withdrawal from personal friends and family members

  Irritability, anger or anxiety

  Inability to focus

  Significant weight loss or gain

  Persistent Feelings of guilt or worthlessness
