Redi-4-Life is a program designed to be part of the school curriculum. It began at Meekatharra District High School in February 2017 and was conducted for the year. We named the programme Redi-4-Life because we want to teach young people Lifeskills education that will prepare them for the challenges they will experience throughout their lives.
The program consists of one-hour lessons conducted every two weeks for each class (the lessons can also be conducted weekly). The program is taught to students from Kindergarten to year 12.
It is split into three-year levels so that the material is age appropriate for each group; Junior Kindergarten/pre-primary (school years 1 to 3), Middle school (years 4 to 7) and Senior (years 8 to 12)
Redi-4-Life is designed to encourage:
To listen to themselves and not be influenced by others
To trust themselves
Deal with their emotions in a responsible manner (both positive and negative).
