PERSONAL INFORMATION
Elisabeth has an extensive background having worked with Aboriginal students, women returning to the workforce, prisoners and re-engaging long-term unemployed people to new work and career opportunities.
Elisabeth works with individuals, couples and groups, she has a special interest in Trauma using both EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) and DBR (Deep Brain Reorienting) with the aim of relieving distress from traumatic events.
Elisabeth believes in a client-centred approach. She believes people who come to counselling are eager to explore new ways and strategies to deal with life issues (whether at work or at home), in a safe and compassionate space. She is a firm believer in empowering her clients with psycho-education to help them understand processes in the brain that impact on behaviour and mood. This helps clients become more aware of the sensitivity and connection to their own inner processes and those of others in their lives.
