PERSONAL INFORMATION

Master of Counselling | ACA Level 2 Counsellor

Jo is passionate about supporting people through life’s challenges with compassion, understanding, and practical strategies for change.

Jo works with adults and adolescents experiencing anxiety, stress, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, emotional overwhelm and the impacts of trauma. She recognises that reaching out for support can feel difficult and is committed to creating a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental space where clients feel heard and understood.

Her counselling approach is warm, collaborative and person-centred, drawing on evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and strengths-based, trauma-informed practice. Jo believes that every person has unique strengths and capacities that can be built upon to support meaningful and lasting change.

Jo has worked within the community services and disability sectors, supporting individuals, families and professionals through education, capacity-building, and community development initiatives.

Born and raised in Kalgoorlie, Jo has a strong connection to the Goldfields community and is now raising her own family in the region. Her understanding of the unique strengths and challenges of regional living helps her connect with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.

Jo is committed to walking alongside her clients as they navigate challenges, discover new perspectives and work towards the life they want to lead.
